* I do not own the rights to this music. WHO is this little girl? I continuously asked myself this question as I wrote and reflected on my earliest memories growing up in Roxbury, Massachusetts. This picture reflects that time period and is my only "baby" picture. I came across it three years ago while looking through my great aunt, Sue's, photo albums after she passed away. Having the opportunity to look into "Lee Lee's" eyes gave me another nudge towards writing my story. �

I was just as excited about carving this pumpkin as my son was! We were kids growing up together. Most times people thought he was my little brother, but he was mine...all mine. I had to work through the frustration I felt when people stared at us. Most times I wanted to say a few choice words, but my son was watching and listening to EVERYTHING I said! I was 14 years old in this picture. By this point, I moved into three different foster homes, lost my mother and had my son. My son had chronic asthma and we were ALWAYS at the hospital. His medical record was thicker than the average adult, but also a testament to the quality of care he received at @bostonmedicalcenter (Formerly, Boston City Hospital).
